Running out of ideas..? For covers, we are.

Okay, guys! We're taking requests for songs to play out during our shows. There are so many to choose from, but we need to know what you want to hear.

We've got a good few covers lined up, including "Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana, "Aerials" by System of a Down, and "Whisper" by Evanescence. They're going along pretty well, and we've got a few extra tricks up our sleeves..

And.. WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR A FREAKIN' DRUMMER! The "Drummer wanted! (Inquire within.)" thing I wrote on Jason's arm in permanent marker didn't exactly do the trick. Nor did asking random people who looked like drummers.. they were guitarists and bass players. Mreh.

If you're living in or around "the valley" and can hit 'em, send some info to band@sinsfate.net and we'll get back to you asap. Thanks.

A quick update.

I've got a long day ahead of me, so I'm going to make this post quick and straight to the point.

It's a new week and we've got a new blog renter. Check it out. I had to make no decision when choosing between blogs. This one is just effing amusing- Useless Advice From Useless Men. I could probably read it all day if I had the time.

The music's been a little slow this past week, but all's going well. We're making some good plans and I came up with some good ideas while practicing on my own yesterday. Let's see if I can remember them when I meet up with the guys.

But as for now, I need to get my arse up and ready to get out of the house.

Welcome the new bassist!

We've FINALLY found ourselves a full time bassist with drive and dedication!

Welcome Jason Amey (the bass tech for Agony Hill) to the group. This guy is such a blessing to us, it's unbelievable. He's so helpful and inspired, though a little bit of a hardass (which is exactly what we need), and has great ideas. Not to mention the resources that come along with the package. It's f*cking great.

I have a feeling that we're going to take off even quicker than planned.. It's so exciting.

What's that new little box?

Rent My Blog. That's the new little feature I decided to add here. Kind of like paid advertising, only without money involved.

It's all through BlogExplosion, which you need to be a member of in order to have a chance to be in on it. Basically you pay x amount of points to be listed for a week. I keep the number low so everyone can be included if they want.

So say hello to the new renter, From the Morning. I've read a bit of this blog and even though I'm not exactly Christian (I think my guys are though), I like the author's words and writing style. (And I totally support religious tolerance.) Go check it out if you've got the time. The posts are well thought out and often entertaining.

Plans for today?
I'm not sure yet. I know I have to work at 5 pm, but I don't really know what I'm doing before then. I want to work some more on "October" and a couple other things. And it's also snowing at the moment, so I'll have to go out and shovel the walk at some point. (Bleh.)

Today's supposed to be the first day of spring (Ostara), and look at that! SNOW! Cold, wet, annoying snow. Where's the warm weather and sunshine?

Plans for the day.

It's been a little while since I last posted here. We're not idle, just kind of slow online right now.

Today we plan on doing some recording later on after we make a few runs to the store and maybe take a few pictures. Depending on whether Gary will be joining us or not (we're not sure yet), we may hit the Chinese restaurant for lunch. I don't know.

As I type, John's here playing his Schecter and coming up with an awesome little tune. We're DEFINITELY going to use it in the near future. It's like he's got an entire song completed already.. and he hasn't even been here 15 minutes. Musical genius, I'm telling you. Maybe it's the sunglasses. I don't know.

Anyway, we're off. Thanks for reading and take care.

My new baby.

I got myself a new Yamaha keyboard the other day. I love it. (Named him Yami, too. NO, I'M NOT INSANE!)

I've got a few things to work on.. hopefully we'll have another track finished within the next week or so if everything goes according to plan. That would be great. John won't be a problem, but I'd have to get Gary around to it and stuff. We've got a lot planned out (and practiced), and Gary's got to catch up a bit. I'm not sure if one day a week with him is enough.. maybe it is and it'll fall into place soon, but it's going kind of slow at the moment.

Hopefully tomorrow's meetup with John will be productive. I'm going to try to push these next couple songs and whatnot. He's been practicing a lot on his own time too, which I'm happy about.

Well, it's about time I finish helping my sister get ready for school and head upstairs to start working on my stuff.

Later guys.

La dee da..

The day was a long one, I guess.

Well, not TOO long, just kind of tiring. John came over WAY TOO EARLY, but he didn't have a watch so it was okay, I guess. Then after the sister went to school, John and I went to the legion and bowling center so I could pick up my pay. Then we went back to my place as quickly as we could so Gary wouldn't have to wait if he happened to come over a little early, but we beat him there.

I won this awesome Yamaha keyboard on Ebay and until the final money count, I was afraid that I'd end up with an overdraft on my bank account. Fortunately with a few extra dollars, I came up with enough cash and I won't have to pay a fee. (THANK GOD!) I can't wait until my little beauty arrives! 76 touch-sensitive keys and grand piano feature, among many other things. It sure beats the hell out of my 13-year-old Casio. It's about time for an upgrade.

Anyway, after practice, we hit the bank so I could make my deposit and then raided Yale's music shop. Small place, but I love it. It doesn't exactly have the best of equipment available all the time, but it's perfect for our basic needs. What do you expect from a small shop in "the valley"?

So yeah.. practice, practice, practice. And hopefully soon we'll be able to release some new music.

I'm so excited.

Today during practice time, I started playing an intro to a Korn song on my keyboard out of boredom. Eventually John joined in with a mournful guitar sound. And after a few changes to what I was playing, we created a brand new song. It's still in the works though. We need to piece things together and I need to come up with some lyrics. But this could very easily become a heart wrenching ballad in the near future. It could even be finished within the next 2-3 weeks if we work hard. I just can't wait to finish this particular song and put it up for everyone to hear.

More changes have been made to the E-team pages. Come check them out. People are required to sign up in order to view it, but registration is free and we don't spam your e-mails like a lot of people do. www.sinsfate.net

I'm also trying to put together my knowledge of php and maybe come up with some special add-ons for the members only pages. We'll see how inspired I am.

Website updates.

I have made a few changes to our website today.

The front page is slightly more organized, and I have completely changed the E-team page around, creating subpages for the forum, in-depth band journal, and the other stuff located there. I figured it would be much better than throwing it all up on one page. It cuts down on loading time and the viewers look at what THEY want to see rather than searching through numerous other features.

Come see the changes at www.sinsfate.net.

Practice at John's place.

Just frickin' nuts.

I think those would be the words to describe the evening.

We jammed for maybe three hours. The only problem was we didn't have a decent system there for me to sing through. It sounded like crap, but it worked. That's all that matters.

It was an interesting night. Lots of jumping around and then we had hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for dinner. And naturally, it was loud.

I didn't get home until midnight.

The alarm went off at 6:00 this morning and all I could do was reset it for 7:00. Then I had to get my ass out of bed to make sure my sister was getting off to school all right.

At the moment, it's about 8:15 and John's already on the porch having his morning cigarette. I'm surprised he's even awake.

Later guys.
